Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan is now getting ready to host the National University Students Sport Week (Pomnas) this year.
Head of South Kalimantan Youth and Sports Agency Hermansyah said among the important preparation to be made is the revamping of venues so they meet the national standards.
"This is the pride of our region being trusted to host the 18th Pomnas. We must make it a success," he said.
Coordination with related parties was also carried out, including with the South Kalimantan's Indonesian Student Advisory Board (Bapomi).
"This is related to which sports are contested, so we can prepare sport venues ealier," he expounded.
Among the sport facilities to be prepared or fixed are shooting range, golf course, athletics field, and tennis court.
"This year there will several sport venues to be repaired so they can bolster sport activities and the National University Students Sport Week," he said.
In addition to renovating sport facilities, Hermansyah said, the provincial government will also build an indoor sport hall (GOR indoor) in 2023.
"It is targeted that the construction of the indoor sport hall to be completed in October 2023," he said.
With the maximum prepareparation, he hopes then the implementation of the National University Students Games in November 2023 will be successful.
"We ask for support from all parties so that the games in South Kalimantan will be successful and the South Kalimantan contingent will win as many medals as possible," he said.
