Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Dandang traditional kite fliers from Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) District, South Kalimantan, Kaspianor Ridani and Hirdiansyah, performed at Fano International Kite Fliers Meeting 2025 on Fano Island, Denmark.
Kaspianor and Hirdiansyah were with the Indonesia Kite Fliers Team to promote Nusantara culture in Denmark on June 14-21, 2025, he said when confirmed from Kandangan, Friday midnight.
Before departing, he said, the team met with Minister of Culture Fadli Zon in Jakarta, Thursday (June 12, 2025).
The team departed via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday (June 13) heading to Denmark. They arrived at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and were greeted by representatives of Indonesian Ambassador to Denmark on Saturday (June 14).

"An impressive moment occured the next day, when Indonesian team paraded wearing traditional costumes from various regions in Indonesia," said Kaspianor.
The international kite festival took place at Rindby Beach area to the north of Fano Bad with numerous scheduled activities from exhibition, competition, to social events to strengthen relationship between all international participants.
Indonesian team also received warm welcome with a banquest at the Fano World Kite Festival 2025 organzing committee's residence.
During the parade, Kaspianor and Hirdiansyah wore Banjar traditional clothes and Dayak Meratus costumes to enliven the event with other teams displaying kites paraded around the City of Fano.
"Alhamdulillah it became our promotion to introduce Indonesian culture which is very meaningful in the eyes of international community," he said.
Kaspianor added that the Indonesian team had faced a challange of extreme weather during Dandang and other kites test in Fano.
Participants had to adapt to very strong wind and air temperatures ranging from 7 to 17 degree Celsius.
Despite this challange, Indonesian team did not give up in showing their best at the international festival.
As a form of appreciation for participation of Indonesian, Fano Mayor invited all members of Indonesian Kite Team to attend a dinner.
The special invitation, Kaspianor said, showed recognition and appreciation for Indonesia's contribution to the prestigious international kite festival.
Fano International Kite Festival is a yearly event and this year is the 41st. It is a gathering place for kite enthusiasm from various countries to share techniques, art and culture through kites.
