Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A total of 310 Hajj prospectives pilgrims attending the manasik haji (hajj rehearsal) opened by the HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry accompanied by Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad.
Head of HSS Office of Religious Affairs Ministry H. Saribbudin in Kandangan, Wednesday (12/6), said the number of candidates for this year is 311 people, consisting of 138 men and 173 women, but one died so the number is now 310 people.
"The oldest Hajj candidate of one 91-year-old person came from Hamayung Village, North Daha Sub-district, while the youngest one came from Jalan Bukhari, Simpur Subdistrict, with the age of 18 years 6 months," he said.
The departure of the HSS candidates is divided into two flight groups, one group to depart on July 8, while the other group, who will joint out-district candidates in other flight group, until now there has been no official notification.
HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry said the task of the district government later
is to deliver candidates to the embarkation and pick them up when they come from the holy land of Mecca.
He requested that the candidate after completing the Hajj pilgrimage be an ambassador in prospering mosques and smaller worship places (langgar) in their respective regions, as it is a joint effort towards the welfare of the world and the hereafter, according to the vision and mission of the HSS Government.
Present at the opening of manasik haji the Forkopimda, heads of the Regional Devices Organization (OPD), MUI deputy chairman, heads of the BRI and BNI Bank of Kandangan Branch, as well as the Regional Hajj Officer Team (TPHD), flight group officials, and HSS hajj supervisors.
