Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The District Government of Kotabaru is making it efforts to control inflation by stablizing staple food prices through cheap market to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah.
Acting Regional Secretary of Kotabaru H Eka Saprudin expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported the implementation of cheap market to meet people needs as well as to stabilize staple food prices ahead of Eid.
"We would like to thank you the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) for conducting cheap market today ahead of Eid al-Fitr, this is the right moment to meet the basic needs of the community," he said as reported on Thursday.

He appealed people to be orderly and buy food as needed according to their daily needs.
The Kotabaru Assistant 2 Murdianto explained that cheap market was held by Kotabaru TPID in order to maintain the availability of basic necessities ahead of Eid.
"This is to help our people to meet their needs ahead of Eid with the hope that people's needs for goods are available. The prices are relatively stable and help our people dan membantu masyarakat kita ywhohave relatively limited purchasing power, because there is indeed a significant price difference," he expounded.
The Kotabaru TPID have previously conducted market operation and cheap market in several sub-districts in marathon during Ramadan.
One residents of Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district, Utuh, expressed his appreciation to the government of Kotabaru for providing cheap market.
"We are very happy with this (cheap market) activities with affordable prices, especially gas (3-kg LPG) at price of Rp27 thousand," he said.
