The Kotabaru DPRD Speaker Hj Alfisah assured her support for the plan to relocate the state capital on Kalimantan Island as a solution to development equality and to reduce population density.
"We fully support the government's plan (to move the capital city to Kalimantan Island)," Alfisah said on Saturday.
She said she was very confident, the government's plan had gone through comprehensive studies.
Especially for Kotabaru, this Nasdem Party politician considered that if the capital of the country is moved to South Kalimantan there will be many positive values will be felt by the people.
Equitable distribution of development can be felt more by the people of Bumi Saijaan (nickname of Kotarau), because of the close proximity of the region to the capital city.
It is confirmed that there will be an increase in the population in Kalimantan in general, which means breaking down the population density on the island of Java.
Thus, said the legislator, the development of potential in the regions will be faster and optimally exploited, that it will improve people's welfare.
Previously, the Governor of South Kalimantan, H Sahbirin Noor before the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Bambang Brodjonegoro in Jakarta some time ago said his party had prepared an area of 300 thousand hectares.
A number of potentials owned by South Kalimantan, including having four airports, have national seaports and have the potential of deep sea ports, cross-national roads and plans to build railways.
In fact, Sahbirin drew the location of South Kalimantan between the highlands and the sea, the existence of highlands would be a water catchment area.
Its position in the middle of the country, according to the governor, is expected to balance development in the West and East Indonesia.
