Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Head of Cooperative, MSE and Employment Agency Priyo Eko reported that 25 cooperatives worked together to fund the construction of a floating restaurant on the Martapura River in the city..
To build a floating restaurant a very large funds is needed. "Just to buy a barge you need hundreds of millions," he said at City Hall on Wednesday.
According to him, the procurement of a 15x45 meter barge for floating restaurants is purely from a cooperative mutual fund contribution fee of around Rp360 million.
"That is also considered the price of scrap metal, because it weighs more than 100 tons," he said.
He claimed to have conducted a comparative study in Palembang and obtained information that building floating restaurants was very expensive and it wasfinanced by five big entrepreneurs.
"They made a joint venture to build a floating restaurant. One person is about Rp3 billion," Priyo said.
In Banjarmasin, he said, it would not be like that, because it did not allow the cooperatives to spend such a large amount of funds.
"I do not know how much the cooperatives have funds at this time, but we are sure they will succeed in building it," Priyo said.
It is planned that the floating restaurant will be completed when the 493th anniversary of Banjarmasin is celebrated on September 24, 2019.
"The mayor wants to have lunch there later after the ceremony," he said.
