Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaraNewsKalsel) - The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Food Resilience and Fishery Agency re-conducts training and practice on nursery and breeding techniques of giant snakehead fish (toman) and climbing perch (papuyu fish).
Located at the demplot fish hatchery of Samhurang Village on Monday, acting Head of Food Resilience and Fishery Agency Hj Sunar Wiwarni explained there are three places of freshwater fish training.
"Previously, the fish seedling demonstration plot was held in Samhurang Village, LAS, papuyu fish nursery in Walatung Village, Pandawan, and domestication of snakehead (haruan) fish in Mahang Baru Village, LAS," he said.
According to him, this is done in order to run one of the district program as a center of local fish cultivation and to build the village of papuyu, haruan and toman.
"Currently, we are intensively conducting socialization, theory to practice, so that people really able to develop their potential, especially in fisheries," he said.
Technically, he said, HST government cooperates with academics from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) as resource persons for the follow-up of transfer of knowledge and technology of fish nursery to group of fish farmers.
Meanwhile, the ULM as a guest speaker in this activity was the Dean of Faculty of Fishery ULM H Pahmi Ansyari, which provided more technical practice.
In this practical activity, ULM involves 25 students of 4th to 6th semester who are utilized it as as local content and direct practice tasks in the field.
