Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Sayed Jafar visited victims of Pasar Kemakmuran fire accident and handed over assistance to them.
The Regent was accompanied by Head of Trade and Industry Agency Hardhani and a number of heads of related government working units (SKPDs) were also attended.
"Hopefully the victims can endure it, this is a trial given by Allah Subhanahu WaTaala," said Sayed Jafar here, Wednesday.
He said the regional government was very concerned and saddened by the disaster experienced by residents at Pasar Kemakmuran, precisely at Block 53.
"We have to increase our awareness of fire. Public awareness needs to be increased further," he said.

The Regent added that the location of the accident will be arranged and rebuilt by the local government after an investigation process by the police.
"It is still being investigated. When it finished, the regional government will build it and arrange it more neatly, as a form of attention and concern for the victims," he said.
Kotabaru Regent on that occasion handed over a number of food assistance, as well as an aid amounting to IDR5 million per shop that burned down.
Meanwhile, Head of Trade and Indutry Agency Hardhani said that the fire that occurred on October 26 in Block 53 of the market affected a total of 61 buildings.
"There were 27 kiosk or shops with 14 owners," he said.
The land where the fire occurred belongs to the government, while the buildings which have been standing for 30 years were built independently.
"For the future, it will be better organized and cleaned. The available land will be redeveloped according to the regent's direction," he said.
