Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Rapid Response Team of the Social Affairs Office of Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, distributed aid to victims affected by fire in Geronggang Village, Kelumpang Tengah Sub-district.
“On behalf of the regional government, we immediately distribute aid to 26 families affected by the fire in Geronggang Village," said Head of Social Affairs Office Nurviza in Kotabaru, Tuesday.
After receiving the report, Nurviza said that his sides immediately prepared aid to be distributed to fire victims in neighborhood unit (RT) 05 of Geronggang Village.
“The assistance provided is in the form fulfilling basic needs, clothing, and food for affectted families,” he said.
Head of Geronggang Village Rian Hidayat said that the assistance received from the Social Affairs Office was 25 basic food packages and 25 mattresses that would be used by the residents affected by the fire.
Rian hopes that the local government and other parties will help with rebuilding process by donating building materials to build houses for residents whose houses were destroyed by fire.
Previously, fire struck 24 houses and a swallow's nest building in Geronggang Village, Monday morning (Oct 23, 2023) at around 09.00 Wita.
Meanwhile, Kotabaru Police also sent aid in the form of basic necessities for the victims.
"The aid sent is in the form of basic commodities, including rice, instant noodles, sugar, coffee, tea, and cooking oil," said Deputy Police Chief Comr Agus Rusdi Sukandar here, Tuesday.
