Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar symbolically handed over social assistance (bansos) worth more than Rp434 million to 83 beneficiary families (KPM), Wednesday.
“Hopefully useful. Please use it as well as possible for daily family needs,” he said as he handed over the assistance symbolically to one recipient.
Acting Head of Social Office Nurviza explained that the assistance, which sourced from the district budget (APBD), was distributed for four categories, namely social assistance for neglected children for 59 recipients, each received Rp3 million with the total amount of Rp177 million.
"Then social assistance for the elderly with eight recipients of Rp2.4 million per person or the total value of Rp19.2 million," said Nurviza.
Furthermore, social assistance for persons with disabilities each received Rp3.6 million for 5 recipients with a total of Rp18 million.

The fourth was social assistance for unhabitable home repairment Rp20 million each for 11 recipients with a total value of Rp220 million.
The social assistance recipients were from eight villages in the sub-district of Pulaulaut Utara, namely Megasari, Semayap, Dirgahayu, Rampa, Stagen, Sebelimbingan, Gunung Ulin, and Gunung Sari Village.
The hand over of the social assistance was carried out by the regent to four representatives and to relevant village heads. It was attended by a number head of government working units, head of Pulaulaut Utara Sub-district, commander of the sub-district military, heads of villages, religious and community leaders.
