Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tabalong Plantation and Livestock Office targeted to administer vaccination of 2,000 rabies-carrying animals.
Head of Animal Health at the office (Disbunnak) Suwandi said that rabies vaccine administration is to prevent the transmission of the virus.
"Today we open a free service for rabies vaccination to mark the World Rabies Day commemoration," explained Suwandi here on Thursday.
Services provided include rabies vaccination, veterinary examination and treatment, vitamin and fur injection as well as health consultation.

The health service for pets was provided free of charge on Thursday (Oct 17, 2024) from 09.00 to 11.30 Wita at the Disbunnak office yard.
Suwandi expounded that the animal to be vaccinated is required to in good health, not pregnant, and at least 4 months old.
According to veterinarian Mega Indah Suryani, rabies vacciantion for pets such as cats is recommended every six months.
"Free rabies vaccine services are dominated by cats and several types of ferrets," said Mega.
Head of Tabalong Plantation and Livestock Office Soleh accompanied acting Tabalong Regent Hamida Munawarah when inspecting the free rabies vaccination service.
"People can take advantage of this free vaccination service program as an effort to prevent rabies," said Soleh.
