Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said that the Tabalong District Government, South Kalimantan, was the most innovative for three years in a row.
Tito's statement was delivered by Head of Domestic Policy Strategy of Home Affairs Ministry Yusharto Huntoyungo at the celebration of the 58th Anniversary of Tabalong in Tanjung, Friday.
"The achievements in Tabalong's develoment should be appreciated, from increasing human development index to being named the most innovative district since2021," said Tito, read by Yusharto.
The district with a nickname "Bumi Saraba Kawa" recorded an HDI of 73.58 with economic growth 5.30 percent, and the northernmost district of south Kalimantan is included in the Top Five Districts with the lowest inflation of 2.43 percent at the end of 2023.
With these achievements, Tabalong is expected to keep on making strategic steps to realize itself as a front porch for South Kalimantan to buffer the National Capital (IKN) of Nusantara in East Kalimantan.
"Becoming a front porch of South Kalimantan is a big vision that can only be achieved by progressive development," said Tito.

The Minister also reminded President Joko Widodo's instruction regarding efforts to curb inflation, reducing stunting rate and extreme poverty in the regions.
At the celebration, Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor launched two Tabalong's inovation, Jual Sayur Ikan Sembako Kawal Inflasi (Julak Wasi), which stands for selling vegetables, fish, basic food to control inflation, and Layanan Angkutan Masyarakat Tabalong Nyaman dan Manis (Langsat Manis) which means Tabalong comfortable and sweet public transportation service.
Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani said that the first inovation had a big influence on efforts to curb inflation, because it supported the distribution of food needs and price stability subsidized by the government.
While, Langsat Manis program provides 10 units of provincial inter-district transport (AKDP) which have been operating.
“This success cannot be separated from direction of governor, president and minister, especially Home Affairs Miniter,” said Anang.
