Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK) has released 4,520 hectares of protected and production forest in Tabalong District, South Kalimantan Province.
According to Head of Forest Utilization of the Tabalong Forest Management Unit Aidil Fahruraji, the release of the forest was stipulated in the LHK Minister's Decree No. 193/MENLHK/SETJEN/PLA.2/3/2023.
"The release of forest area includes Dambung Raya Village, Hegarmanah Village, as well as public and social facilities," Aidil expounded here, Thursday.

Since the two villages have been released through agrarian reform object lands (TORA), then the road improvement could be made to support village development.
The release of protected forest areas also includes Uwi River, Kumap River I, Tabalong Kiwa River I and II, Pasuang River, Musim River and limited production forest of Meratus Mountains as well as Tabalong I and II permanent forest.
Next is changes to forest area boundaries for TORA for community groups, including in Bumi Makmur Village, Burum Village, Panaan Village, Garagata Village, Marindi Village, Jaro Village, Lano Village and Muang Village.
Regent of Tabalong H Anang Syakhfiani is committed to improve the quality of road to Dambung Raya Village for the improvement of community economy.
"We have allocated fund of about IDR50 billion for road repairs up to Dambung Raya Village which is now a developing village," he said.
Anang advised the villagers to take advantage of the road to support transportation of their agriculture and plantation products and not to be used by outsiders to carry out illegal logging.
