Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Interim Speaker of Kotabaru DPRD Suwanti chaired a hearing meeting or RDP with fishermen association of Hilir Muara Village, Pulau Laut Sigam Sub-district, regarding their eight demands.
"We have heard their oration then held RDP," said Suwanti who was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Awaludin in Kotabaru, Monday. She said some of the demand were accomodated according to the council's authority.
From the RDP it was agreed a plan to form an integrated team involving the provincial KSOP (Port Authority and Harbormaster Office), DPRD, and Maritim and Fisheries Office (DKPP).

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God) our fishermen are allowed to go to sea using basic lampara (purse seine) equipped with the RDP minutes," said Usman Pahero, chairperson of Maju Bersama fishermen association.
Previously, the fishermen held a rally and filed eight demands. One of which regarding licensing. They demanded an integrated, one stop licensing service to make it easier for fishermen to access.
They also asked the provincial government (DKPP) to immediately disseminate technical instruction and guidelines on legality of using basic lampara fishing gear.
