Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, has again won the Adipura award for the medium city category and received the best market management award plaque from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK).
The two awards were handed over by Vice President of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin and Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar to Mayor Muhammad Aditya Mufti Ariffin at the Auditorium Dr. Soedjarwo, Manggala Wanabakti Building, Jakarta, Tuesday.
"Alhamdulillah Banjarbaru succeeded in retaining Adipura award and also received a plaque for market management with the best integrated waste management," Aditya noted in a statement released by Communication and Informatics Office in Banjarbaru, Tuesday.
Aditya was grateful and proud for the achievements and thanked all parties who had supported the city to obtain this national level award.

He said that it should be an encouragement for the city government of Banjarbaru, especially employees and cleaning officers within the Environment Service.
"Next year we are targeting to obtain Adipura Kencana, which is the highest achievement of the Adipura award held by LHK Ministry," he said.
Previously, VP Ma'ruf Amin said that Adipura awarding with the aim to create a better and more sustainable environmental quality.
"It is an encouragement for regions to further improve the quality of environment and to be more innovative, especially in waste management," he said.
