Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The Trade Ministry has awarded South Kalimantan as the Consumer Protection Concern Region (DPPK) in 2023.
The award, which was handed over directly by Trade Minister Zulkifli at Pullman Hotel Bandung, received by acting Head of South Kalimantan Trade Office Nurul Fajar Desira
“The government is committed to creating empowered consumers and responsible business actors,” said Minister Hasan in a written statement received here, Friday.
“Empowered consumers can indirectly improve welfare and economic growth,” he said.

The minister expressed high appreciation to regional governments who keep on supporting consumer protection activities in their respective regions.
According to him, the efforts to provide consumer protection have big challanges. This is because Indonesia has the fourth largest population in the world, reaching 278 million people.
Desira said that the award was a form of the provincial government's commitment to protect the rights and interests of consumers.
Besides, the regional government is firmly determined to build awareness of producers to fulfill consumers' rights by creating a healthy trading environment for the public.
Hew hopes that the award received is not only an achievement itself, but will have an impact on the growth and improvement of tjhe economy of the people of South Kalimantan.
