Martapura, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur presented the 2021 district-level Adiwiyata awards to 23 schools.
The Regent congratulated the award-winning school principals at the Mahligai Sultan Adam courtyard, Martapura, Monday.
"The Adiwiyata award should not only be a symbol but there must be a continuation of responsibility of all school members. Hopefully, the winning school can represent (the district) to the (provincial) level of South Kalimantan," he said.
He said the award must be balanced with the culture of the school movement that cares and is environmentally cultured, healthy, clean, and has a beautiful environment, so it is comfortable to live in.
Head of Banjar Environment Agency Mursal said that the winning schools had gone through four Adiwiyata components, namely environmentally insightful policy, environment-based curriculum, participatory-based environment activities, and management of environmentally friendly supporting facilities.
The agency in 2021 had proposed 60 adiwiyata schools for the national level, 15 for the provincial level, and 30 for the district. The assessment team has completed their assignment and 23 schools have received the awards.
