Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarbaru Mayor H M Aditya Mufti Ariffin stated that the city is ready to implement a mobile vaccination service by using a bus fleet.
"We are ready to operate a mobile vaccination service that is supported by three buses to visit our residents in their neighborhood," said the Mayor in Banjarbaru, Sunday.
The bus operation, he said, to begin on Monday, November 15, 2021. It will go to residential areas to provide vaccination with coverage of one bus for five neighborhood units (RT).
The purpose is not only to increase the number of people being vaccinated, the Mayor expounded, but to help residents, especially the elderly, who could not come to the vaccination centers.
"Quite a lot of people who could not come to the vaccination centers, because of physical limitation and age. So, we take a policy to serve them by visiting the community directly," he said.

He is optimistic the target to cover 195,115 people or equivalent to 70 percent of the city's population will be fulfilled by the end of November, whereas the realization has reached over 68 percent.
The achievement of vaccine coverage is also supported by the availability of several type of vaccines, including Sinovac, Astra Zeneca, Moderna, and Pfizer that have been administered to the public.
"Currently a number of health care facilities, including puskesmas, also government offices, and other places are carrying out vaccination with the support of various parties, so we are very optimistic that the target will be achieved," he said.
