Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina announced the city policy that all entertainment facilities must be closed on New Year's Eve (NYE).
"This is the decision of the coordination meeting of Forkopimda (the city's leadership communication forum)," he said here on Monday, November 15, 2021.
According to Ibnu Sina, the forum has taken the decision in their coordination meeting in addressing the current situation of handling COVID-19. One of the problems is NYE celebrations.
"Although it's still long, it became our common concern," he said.
Ibnu acknowledged that the case in the city continues to go down, even there was no case in the last few days, while its status of community activity restriction (PPKM) is at level 2, but it should not slow down.
However, Ibnu Sina continued, people in the city are allowed to celebrate but on a limited scale by adhering to the health protocols.
He expounded that people can enjoy their time with families and neighbors in their respective neighborhoods without go wandering around to cause crowds.
"If you want (to celebrate) please do it at home or at the housing complex with your neighbors," he said.
With this agreement of forkopimda, he hopes, entertainment owners to understand it, so there will be no problem on NYE.
