Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Banjarmasin Health Agency began to administer the third dose of Moderna vaccine to hundreds of health workers at the agency's office.
"The (booster) vaccination for health workers to run for three days," said head of the agency Machli Riyadi, Friday.
As many as 900 health workers, according to him, have applied to register to get the third dose or the booster vaccine.
"For today 140 registered health workers are vaccinated. If three days is not enough then we will add," Machli Riyadi explained.
Among the health workers who were administered the third vaccine injection were included health employees of clinics and private doctors --in addition to medical staff from community health centers (puskesmas) and hospitals.

It is expected, Machli Riyadi pointed out, the health workers at the frontline in COVID-19 handling to be really in the state of health.
"So they can provide maximum service to the community," he explained.
All health workers, he said, should indeed be given the booster injection according to the instruction of the Ministry of Health.
"The booster vaccine for health workers is of Moderna," said Machli Riyadi.
Previously, health workers in Banjarmasin received two initial vaccine shots using the China-made Sinovac vaccine.
"No need to differentiate of Sinovac and Moderna, both are good," he said.
Machli Riyadi acknowledged that the stock of the COVID-19 vaccine in Banjarmasin is still lack. However, there was a new supply of 4,440 doses o vaccine.
"We need a lot more vaccine to intensify the target of as many as 300,000 people in the third dose vaccination program," he said.
