Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has recorded the South Kalimantan's February 2020 inflation, which was a combination of Banjarmasin, Tanjung, and Kotabaru stood at 0,08 percent.
Head of the agency Diah Utami in Banjarbaru, Monday (March 2, 2020), said, inflation in Banjarmasin was recorded at 0,02 percent, Tanjung 0,91 percent, and Kotabaru 0,3 percent.
"The 0,08 percent inflation occurred due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index from 105,33 in January to 105,41 in February," she said.
The price increase occurred in the expenditure group, namely the food, beverage and tobacco 0,44 percent, health 1,45 percent, leisure, sport and culture group 0,57 percent, education 0,03 percent, food and beverage supply 0,25 percent, and personal care 0,49 percent.
But the price decrease occurred in the groups of clothing and footwear 0,19 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuel 0,04 percent, tool, equipment, and household maintenance 0,03 percent, transportation 1,11 percent, information, communication and financial service 0,36 percent.
Garlic, snakehead fish, prescribed drug and red chili gave the highest share of inflation in South Kalimantan.
While commodities with the highest share of deflation included air transportation, long-jawed mackerel, gasoline, and snacks.
BPS also recorded 73 out of 90 cities experienced inflation, and the highest inflation in Sintang 1,21 percent. While deflation in 17 cities with the lowest deflation in Pare-Pare and the highest in Tanjung Pandan 1,20 percent.
