Flood, HSU Schools Dismissed

Amuntai, (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - A number of schools in the Hulu Sungai Utara Regency (HSU) since Tuesday (9/4) was forced to dismiss due to floods.
As in the State Elementary School (SDN) in the Danau Terate, sub-district Banjang. This school had to be closed, because the condition of the road to school submerged deep enough, said the head of the SDN Danau Terate Hj Usmawati, when met, Thursday (11/4).
"The school is not submerged, but the road to the school is quite far inland and is now flooded" he said.
Every flood season the school is always dismissed due to field hit by severe flood. The area was located in the lowlands of the river, so it is always submerged when the Balangan river overflowed like now.
While in the sub-District of North Amuntai reported 15 schools affected by the severe floods because the region is along the banks of the Tabalong River.
Head of Secondary Education (Kadikmen) of HSU Education Agency M Yunus said that if schools are forced to dismiss students due to safety considerations when flood risk is welcome. "But the UN should be prepared as well as possible" said Yunus.
Until now, he has not received reports of schools give remedial constrained because of the floods, so he believes the UN preparations continues accordingly.
"If the flood was still flooded some areas while senior high school examination on 15 May, then efforts should be made so as not to interfere with the implementation schedule and implementation of UN operational procedures" he said.
Kadikmen expect policy of the UN watchdog for students who are late to the exam site due to constrained flooding.
