Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) government is ready to become an order calibration district to improve protection for consumers in the trade sector.
Head of the Trade Agency M Sufiani here on Tuesday said HSS was declared by the Ministry of Trade through the Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Commercial Order (DG PKTN) as one of the 2019 orderly calibration district (DTU) candidates.
"In 2019, the Directorate General of PKTN has declared 13 districts and cities throughout Indonesia as DTU candidates," he said.
The thirteen DTU candidates are Pariaman City, Bandung City, Bogor City, Samarinda City, Kendari City, Serdang Bedagai District, Tangerang District, West Bandung District, Bandung District, Rembang District, Pasuruan District, HSS District, and South Buru District.
Especially for Kalimantan, the prospective DTU areas are only two regions, namely South Kalimantan in HSS and East Kalimantan in Samarinda.
Preparing for HSS towards DTU, he added, his party will cooperate with several related parties, starting from PT Pertamina, PT PLN, PDAM and others.
The signing of the cooperation will be implemented in the near future, until HSS is truly ready to become DTU following Banjarmasin City which has been established as DTU.
The formation team of DTU will also conduct calibrate and re-calibrate, metrological socialization at five points until they will recalculate at seven village market and sub-district points.
"We will continue to update data on weighing devices, measuring, weighing and equipment (UTTP)," he said.
At present, there are 14 markets in HSS which have been designated as orderly calibration markets by the Ministry of Commerce.
