Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Tanah Laut Regent H Sukamta together with Director General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (Dirjen PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture Sarwo Edi harvested a scaffolding gogo rice system in Kandangan Lama Village, Panyipatan Subdistrict, Thursday (21/2).
"Planting of this scaffold upland rice system is a rice planting technique not a seed, but seeds in dry land or rainfed rice areas," said Regent H Sukamta.
According to him, planting a scalloped upland system in Kandangan Lama Village is a program from the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Some time ago superior rice was planted during the dry season with a stimulant of 880 hectares, but it turned out that farmers in Kandangan Village had planted up to 2,000 hectares," he told.
Now, he said, it has entered a harvest period, it is worth to be grateful together.
Sukamta also expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture to provide assistance with agricultural machinery tools (Alsintan), whose value has now reached Rp100 billion to increase the productivity of agricultural land in the Tanah Laut.
Meanwhile, Director General Sarwo Edi expressed his appreciation to the farmers in Kandangn Lama Village for the success of the gogo rain-dependent rice crop system.
"If the harvest is finished, it will be cultivated and replanted immediately. The land should be maintained properly and if possible planted twice a year," Sarwo Edi said.
He revealed, South Kalimantan is one of the food barns in Indonesia and Tanah Laut including the agricultural buffer districts in South Kalimantan.
"The government through the Ministry of Agriculture maximally pays attention to the interests of farmers. The alsintan assistance provided to be used as much as possible to increase the agricultural production of farmers in this area," he pleaded
