Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of South Kalimantan Office of Religious Affairs Ministry H Noor Fahmi stated, hajj prospective pilgrims of Banjarmasin Embarkation was reported to be safe when a storm occurred in Arafah, Saudi Arabia.
"It is reported that there was a storm in the Arafah area on Sunday night (8/19) local time. From the reports of our hajj officers, the condition of our pilgrims was declared safe," he said in Banjarmasin on Monday.
According to Noor Fahmi, a storm accompanied by rain occurred in the Arafah desert where all the haj prospective pilgrims from all over the world gathered at the time of worship. Some tents were declared collapsed.
"The report was that our hajj prospective were not injured in the incident, even though there were collapsed tents. Fortunately, the storm did not last long," he said.
He hoped, the families in the area did not need to worry too much about the occurrence of the incident, because the conditions of the pilgrims were declared to be all right.
"We just pray that their worship will be carried out smoothly because this is the culmination of the pilgrimage," Noor Fahmi said.
As is known, the prospective pilgrims of South Kalimantan who are currently in Mecca are as many as 3,885 people, including the officers.
