Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarbaru Resort Police and Banjar Resort Police, South Kalimantan, have prepared to escort Asian Games torch which is scheduled to arrive at Syamsudin Noor Airport at 08.00.
"We have prepared personnel who will perform escorts of Asian Games torch upon arrival at the airport," said Banjarbaru Traffic Police Chief Adj Comr (AKP) Gustav RM in Banjarbaru, Sunday.
He said the escort will be using patrol car from the airport to go along Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani km 25 to km 17.
Road segment crossed by Asian Games torch relay in Banjarbaru only along 8 kilometer then entering Banjar and Banjarmasin.
"Although the road is crossed only 8 kilometers long, but everything have to be guarded and we put personnel on the road to facilitate travel entourage," he said.
According to him, after the escort arrived at the circle of Km 17, the escort will be handed over to the Traffic Unit of Banjar Police who will escort down to the gate of Banjarmasin City.
"Our duties only to escort since the torch arrive at the airport up to Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 17. The taken over by Banjar Police up to the gate of Banjarmasin City," he said.
Chief of Banjar Traffic Police Adj Comr (AKP) Indra Agung Perdana Putra said his unit is ready to escort the series of torch relay since Km 17 to Banjarmasin.
"Throughout the journey will be guarded and secured by hundreds of personnel, especially for the smooth flow of traffic along the way crossed by the troupe," he said.
He appealed, the community took part welcoming the torch arrival which is scheduled to stay for one day in Banjarmasin before taken to the next province.
"Our hope, the whole community to welcome the torch relay to prove all proud and excited about the implementation of the Asian Games in Indonesia," he said.
