Paringin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan Integrated Service Center for Women and Children Empowerment (P2TP2A) in South Kalimantan has recorded an increase in violence against women and children, as well as child neglect, in the district.
According to the local P2TP2A data, seven cases occurred in 2016, but in the first half of this year in the period of January - June there was a drastic increase.
Head of P2TP2A Mulidiah said in the period of January-June in 2017 occurred 18 cases.
At the end of August and September again two cases occurred, namely forced copulation of minors and cases of indecency. Both cases are being handled by Balangan Police.
"In the first semester of 2017 seven reports entered P2TP2A, then 11 cases entered in Balangan Police, so there were 18 cases. Then in the second semester two cases of sexual violence against children and women," he said.
Based on P2TP2A records, two cases of women who experienced physical violence, two cases of psychological violence, one sexual violence and two cases of neglect of children.
Then there was one case of child sexual abuse, one case of child abuse, one case of neglect, and eight other cases. such as a child facing the law.
P2TP2A, she continued, in receiving reports of violence against women and children will coordinate with the relevant agencies.
"Then we went down with the agency to check on the field and do the handling by working with agencies and law enforcement officials," he said.
If children and women need a psychologist for their mental, P2TP2A will coordinate so the women and children can be helped.
