Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Trade Office (Disdag Kalsel) informed that the province's inflation stood at 1.42 percent by the end of June 2025 indicating that basic food prices remained stable.
"Until the end of June 2025, the calender year inflation was recorded at only 1.42 percent, far under the worrying threshold," Head of South Kalimantan Trade Office Ahmad Bagiawan confirmed here on Monday.
Meanwhile, the price increase in staple food in South Kalimantan by the end of July, according to him, was below two percent and still considered safe.

However, he acknowledged, there had been price fluctuation for several essential commodities, such as 3-kg LPG and shallots.
3-kg LPG price hike occurred du to delay during the long holiday, when speculators expoilted the prices.
“It was due to a long holiday of up to four days, which hinder the delivery of 3-kg LPGs," he said.
He declared that the provincial government and policymakers, including Pertamina, have addressed the issue of subsidized 3-kg LPG availability.
Meanwhile, shallot prices spiked because supply from outside the region were delayed due to bad weather on sea routes.
“Indeed, shallot in South Kalimantan rely on supply from other regions, by using sea transportation the ships that brought them were delayed due to high waves and other factors,” said Bagiawan.
However, he assured, that prices remain controlled and stable for other commodities, such as curly chillies, red chilies, chicken eggs, wheat flour and milk.
