Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Ahead of Ramadan, the Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, Food Security and Agriculture Office (DKPP) held cut-price food movement (GPM) by providing staple commodities for people with lower prices.
Head of Food Security of the office Rahbiyah here on Monday said the movement was the district participation in the National Food Inflation Control Movement (GNPIP) by involving Cooperative, Micro Enterprises, Trade and Industry Office (Diskumdagri), as well as TP-PKK and DWP.
She said that the GPM aims to help communities to get staple food with low price and safe to consume.

120 racks of eggs were provided with a price of Rp53,000/rack, 10 cartoons of Enak sweetened condensed milk (Rp10,000/can), 10 bales of salt (Rp5,000/three packs), and 100 packs of SPHP Bulog rice containing 5 kg each (Rp58,000/pack).
"All commodities brought by DKPP were sold out, showing the enthusiasm of the community," he said.
By holding GPM, Rahbiyah hopes that people's basic needs ahead of Ramadan can be met at cheaper price.
Tanah Bumbu government carries out GPM in all 12 sub-districts in Tanah Bumbu starting February 17 in Madu Retno Village.
The next schedule was Sarimulya Village, Mantewe sub-district, on Tuesday, then Sejahtera Mulia Village, Satui Sub-district, on Wednesday.
Binawara Village, Kusan Hulu Sub-district, on Thursday, Waringin Tunggal Village, Kuranji Sub-ditrict, on Monday (February 24), Teluk Kepayang Village, Teluk Kepayang Sub-district, on Tuesday (February 25).
Bayansari Village, Angsana Sub-district, on Wednesday (February 26), Tri Mulya Village, Sungai Loban Sub-district, on Thursday (February 27), and Saring Sungai Binjai Village, Kusan Tengah Sub-district, on Tuesday (March 4).
Maju Bersama Village, Batulicin Sub-district, on Wednesday (March 5), Sungai Lembu Village, Kusan Hilir Sub-district, on Thursday (March 6), and Kampung Baru Village, Simpang Empat Sub-district, Friday (March 7).
