Banjar, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Banjar, South Kalimantan, together with the police planted corn to support the national food security program in third quarter of 2025 in Teluk Sanggar RT 12, Bincau Village, Martapura.
The planting, which utilized one hectare of social forestry land for productive agriculture, was part of the national strategy toward food sufficiency by 2025.
Banjar Regent H Saidi Mansyur here on Wedensday expressed his full support for the activity aimed at stengthening regional food security.
He appreciated Banjar Police for their initiative and active role in promoting regional agricultural productivity.

The Regent said the success of this program cannot be separated from the close collaboration between the local government, TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces)/Polri (National Police), as well as active participation of the community.
"Banjar government will expand this program to various areas to achieve sustainable food securty and improve the welfare of local farmers,” he said.
Banjar Police Chief AKBP Fadli stated the involvement of police, particularly Bhabinkamtibmas, is a form of support for the national program.
"We plant corn on a one-hectare social forestry plot on Jalan Teluk Sanggar, Bincau Village. This is the National Police's contribution in supporting the 2025 national food sufficiency target,” Fadli said.
He said the synergy between the National Police and Ministry of Agriculture is expected to help farmers increase crop yields sustainably.
The simultaneous corn planting was held nationally via zoom meeting centered at the Selo Lestari Forest, Selojari Village, Klambu Sub-district, Grobogan District, Central Java. The event was attended by Minister of Forestry and Chief of the National Police.
The third quarter corn planting was part of the government's strategic measures to maintain food security, while anticipating potential decline in harvest yields in the previous quarter.
