Marabahan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Barito Kuala (Batola), South Kalimantan, H Bahrul Ilmi said 1.268 houses in Kuripan Sub-district are being affected by flood, based on the report from the district Disaster Mitigation Agency and Social Affairs Office.
"The flood that hit Kuripan Sub-district was sent from Central Kalimantan," he said here on Friday.
He said people's houses were affected by flood in Kuripan, because the buildings were low.
"If only people build their houses higher God willing they will not be affectted by flood again," said the Regent.

Now it is the homework for the local government, to overcome the impact of flood on the 1,268 houses.
He said that his party is trying to overcome the problem with the support of all parties, both the government and the community.
"We are trying to overcome this, including through renovation, so that next year there will be no more floods that disturb the community," he pointed out.
Meanwhile, Kuripan Sub-district Head Zulfikar expressed his gratitude for Batola H Bahrul Ilmi Regent visit that directly surveyed the residents of Kuripan.
"I feel happy and proud for the coming of the Regent and entourage and the follow up to our residents who are affected by the high water discharge from Central Kalimantan," he said.
The Regent and entourage in the visit to Kuripan reviewed four villages affected by flood, namely Jambu Baru, Asia Baru, Rimbun Tulang and Tabatan Baru.
