Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) Minister/Head of National Land Agency (BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized that legal certainty of land is an important thing to attract foreign investment in the Indonesia's new capital city Nusantara (IKN).
He made a remark when observing the weekend services (PELATARAN) at the Balikpapan Land Office, Sunday (August 11, 2024).
“Foreign Direct Investment is important for us to accelerate the development process. We must also support the legal certainty of land and it is not always easy due to geographical condition or people who live there. So we have to confirm which areas are clean and clear and can immediately be moved for investment,” said Minister AHY as quoted from South Kalimantan BPN's release in Banjarbaru.
ATR Minister pointed out that in its efforts to attract investment in IKN, the government prioritizes humanistic approach. It is to maintain the environmental sustainability as well the existence of the local community.

“Of course we have to be progressive, but in accordance with the rele and law, and once again if there is society we have to do it humanistically. This is the approach we are taking, a balance between pursuing acceleratede economy and infrastructure development, but on the other hand we want to to preserve the environment as well as the existence of people here,” the minister expounded.
AHY also said that the handling of social impact (PDSK) for 2,086 hectares of the assets under control (ADP) in IKN is underway.
The role of ATR Ministry/BPN is providing data and information on the acquisition.
“We are currently looking for middle ground for this PDSK mechanism, what the community expects, but of course the state has limitations, including the government, there are corridors that we must maintain. So far the process countinues and we'll see, we'll monitorit,” concluded Minister AHY.
In his working visit, Minister AHY was accompanied by Special Staff for Internal Management Agust Jovan Latuconsina, Head of Public Relation Bureau of ATR Ministry/BPN Harison Mocodompis, Head of East Kalimantan BPN Deni Ahmad Hidayat, and Head of Balikpapan Land Office Herman Hidayat and his staff.
