Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Secretary General of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Ministry/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Suyus Windayana received the Honorary Surveyor title for his contribution in the world of surveying and mapping at the national level.
The title was awarded by the Indonesian Surveyor Association (ISI) on Monday (July 29, 2024) at the Main Hall of Building S, the Indonesin Geospatial Agenc (BIG), Bogor District.
“I am very happy. Hopefully our profession will really have an impact on the society, an impact on the country, an impact on th world,” said Suyus Windayana as quoted from the South Kalimantan BPN Office in Banjarbaru.
The title he receives is dedicated to all surveyors in Indonesia. As said by ATR Minister/BPN Head Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) in some occasions that surveyors have a real role in land registration throughout Indonesia, which reaches 126 million plots of land.
“I hope this profession will truly become a profession that is responsible, maintaining a code of ethics, because this is very important of the profession for me,” said the Secretary General.

He hopes that collaboration and coordination surveyors and the government can be established well.
“In the future, this will be a very good collaboration for ATR Ministry/BPN, for BIG, and also with Bappenas, with a lots of communication from the government, also with universities to improve quality and network of surveyor profession,“ said Suyus Windayana.
The similar title of Honorary Surveyor was also given to Hasanudin Zainal Abidin and M. Arief Syafi’i.
On the occasion of the title awarding, for the first time the Indonesian surveyors were inaugurated in Indonesia. A total of 21 professional surveyors were inaugurated by BIG and ISI.
ISI Secretary General Amri Chatib in his remarks pointed out that the honorary title and this inauguration was a good start for the progress of surveyor profession.
“Hopefully this activity, bothe the honorary titles that have been awarded to three dedicated people, as well as this inauguration, will become a new milestone in the world of surveyors to be more competent, professional, and have integrity in this our beloved country,” he said.
Also attending to accompany Secretary General of ATR/BPN, Director General of Mapping Survey Virgo Eresta Jaya; Director of Survey and Thematic Mapping Agus Wahyudi; Director of Cadastral Measurement and Mapping Herjon Panggabean; and Head of Bogor District Land Office Yuliana and staff.
