Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani led a closure socialization in front of hundreds of inhabitants of the localization of both pimps and prostitutes.
"We want all residents to know that we are serious about closing localization soon," the mayor said on the sidelines of socialization in the Pembatuan and Batu Besi localization in Banjarbaru, Monday.
The mayor arrival was warmly welcomed by hundreds of occupants of a place of prostitution, located in Jalan Kenanga, East Landasan Ulin Village, Landasn Ulin Sub-district.
"Our arrival accompanied by elements of the Regional Leadership Forum Coordination and ranks of municipal government was warmly welcomed. It meaned the closing was positively responded," he said.
According to the mayor, a concept that will be run in closing the decade old localization will not be detrimental to the inhibitants.
"The concept is closing without eviction. That is, people still live and do their livelihood, while sex workers sent home and given help with a venture capital," he said.
The assistance provided in the form of cash coming from the Ministry of Social Affairs and can be accepted directly through bank account transfer.
"The amount of aid Rp5.050.000 and this amount of money could be used by former prostitutes to open a business, so they no longer undergo the improper work," he said.
He added the government is ready to build an office area in the former localization. such as the sub-district office and prepare the land to build the headquarters of the sector police and military.
