Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Farmers in Tapin District, South Kalimantan, to begin red ginger business with PT Sido Muncul, said the district's Head of Agriculture Office Wagimin.
"Ginger plantation area in Tapin covers 83 hectare with an average yield of eight tons per hectares," he said, Wednesday.
Red ginger is being developed in Hatungun Sub-district and Salam Babaris Sub-district.
"In 2022 all of the red ginger are purchased by PT Sido Munculoff taker," he said.
The red ginger to be sold to the Indonesian herbal medicine company is in the form of semi-finished products. "Farmers will be trained to process their plant into ginger powder," he said.
Tapin Regent HM Arifin Arpan welcome the partnership that has been established. He hopes that it improves the farmers'economy. "This proves that the quality of ginger plant in Tapin has met the company's requirements," he said.
One important message from the regent is to maintan the quality and quantity of red ginger and in the future not to dissappoint the company.
"I hope that the partnership with PT Sido Muncul can be sustainable," he said.
