Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kotabaru district, South Kalimantan, and Majene district, West Sulawesi, agree on the division of oil and gas participation interest in Sebuku Block.
"Kotabaru and Majene agreed on share of participation interest respectively 50 percent of 10 percent given by the company who manages oil and gas in Sebuku Block," said Kotabaru Public Relations sub-affairs head Feby Sitepu here on Thursday.
He explained, originally Kotabaru assessed loss on share of 50 percent PI to Majene, because Sebuku Block which is being exploited is in the Kotabaru.
But in the future Kotabaru will have benefit, when the six blocks in the Majene area exploited Kotabaru will get 50 percent of PI.
"It is currently known in the border waters of Kotabaru and Majene discovered oil and gas in nine blocks, three blocks located in Kotabaru and six blocks in Majene region," he said.
If oil and gas in nine blocks were exploited, then each region to get PI division 50 percent.
The agreement, further Feby, performed at the Vice President Palace and facilitated by Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, West Sulawesi Governor H Anwar Adnan Saleh, South Kalimantan Governor H Rudy Ariffin, Majene Regent Katta Kalma, and Regent Kotabaru H Irhami Ridjani.
