Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo ensured the availibility of subsidized fertilizer for South Kalimantan farmers is sufficient, even overstock.
He was speaking as he observed the stock at the warehouse of PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri) in Landasan Ulin, Banjarbaru, Monday.
"Today we can see the availability of the fertilizer, it is quite safe in South Kalimantan, even throughout Indonesia. This is reflected in the three provinces visited by sampling to ensure the availability of the fertilizer," he pointed out.
The minister asked the fertilizer producer PT Pusri for South Kalimantan region to distribute the fertilizer stocks in the warehouse to farmers in the area around the province.
Meanwhile, the minister received information from the PT Pusri's PSO branch manager that the fertilizer here is over-stock. With this condition, he hoped the stock to be used as an inventory for the next planting season or as a buffer for other areas in short supply.
"Today South Kalimantan has an overstock, and we are entering the second planting season, apparently the results are quite good. Overstock of fertilizer can be used for buffer-stock for other provinces or as a supply for the next planting season," he said.
The Agriculture Minister Regulation (Permentan) No 10 of 2020 stipulates subsidized fertilizers are intended for farmers from farmers group who compile e-RDKK (an electronic system for group need definitive plan). Related to this, the minister had instructed his staff on the downstream movement of the subsidized fertilizer.
Yoyo Supriyanto, PSO Branch Manager of PT Pusri said that until August 2020, this urea fertilizer producer had distributed 65 percent of the subsidized fertilizer to the farmers.
