Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Coronavirus infection across South Kalimantan climbed by 161 cases on Tueday (July 14, 2020) to bring the total to 4.379 and the highest surge came from Tabalong District with as many as 35 cases, according to the province task force tally.
The highest new cases also came from Tanah Laut 27, Banjar 23, Tapin 26, Banjarmasin 16, and Banjarbaru 23. While the rest added by Barito Kuala 2, South Hulu Sungai (HSS) 2, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) 1, Tanah Bumbu 3, and Balangan 3.
"The continued high number of COVID-19 new cases shows the still high transmission among the people, thus the implementation of health protocol is very urgent to continue and to be disseminated," said the South Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson HM Muslim.

Muslim louded Banjarbaru for applying sanction against citizens who violate the health protocol to encourage people to comply with. "Hope this will accelerate effort to break the chain of transmission," he said.

The total COVID-19 cases recorded in South Kalimantan is 4.379, as many as 2.674 people are treated at the hospitals and special quarantine, 1.481 people had recovered, and 224 people died.
The number of People Under Monitoring (ODP) 754 and Patient Under Surveillance (PDP) 422.
