Banjarmasin , South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - South Kalimantan Governor H Rudy Ariffin judging University of Lambung Mangkurat (Unlam) which is the largest university in the province increasingly advanced and gleaming.
"Although Unlam has advanced yet we expect it continue to progress further, " he said at the grand reunion of alumni of the oldest public university in Kalimantan or Borneo, in Shinta Restaurant on Saturday night.
As the number one person in the provincial government, he wanted to help Unlam to construct the postgraduate building, which Unlam has not had until now.
In addition, the the two periods South Kalimantan Governor wished, dentistry courses at the Faculty of Medicine next year could be a stand alone faculty, namely the Faculty of Dentistry to support the Dental Hospital of Banjarmasin, that newly inaugurated.
"Because based on research, most young people in South Kalimantan who study until high school, have broken teeth, if not to say rotten," he said.
"Because of that dental health issues, so many young men were failed when tried to enroll in the National Military Academy. This is not to happen again, as the existence of the Faculty of Dentistry and Dental Hospital," said Rudy Ariffin.
Unlam Rector Prof. Dr. Ir HM Ruslan MS explained, he led the university which have 10 faculty with 45 subject courses. In addition, dozens of fields of study in postgraduate program (S2) , and three field studies for doctoral program (S3), and in the near future it is going to open S3 program. *** **
