Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Eventhough it is in the midst of mining industry activities, SMPN 1 Binuang state junior high school in Binuang, Tapin District, continues to improve on its way to be the first natural school in the district.
The school principal, Satriya MPd, stated his determination to realize the SMPN 1 Binuang a natural school and it must be done in 2020.
"We have made various efforts to make this school as a natural school and this is the first in Tapin District," he remarked.
One of the efforts in building the school's conservation forest as a place for education for its students. The forest is planted with hundreds of rare trees oridinated from Kalimantan forest.
"In this school's forest, we have planted hundreds of rare trees from Kalimantan," he pointed out.

He explained, the purpose of building the natural school in SMPN 1 Binuang in order students are not bound to the theories the learn in the classroom, but they can practice what they learn in the open air.
"Thus the students are more enthusiastic in learning, because learning is not only in the classroom but also can be outside with more comfortable atmosphere," he said.
Satriya hoped in 2020 the SMPN 1 Binuang wil become a natural school, of course with the support of students, teacher council, the government of Tapin District, and relevant parties.
"Right now we continue to study and learn, hopefully in the next year we can make our school a natural school," he said.
