Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The villager of Wayau in Tanjung Sub-district, Tabalong, finally have their own integrated waste disposal (TPST Mandiri) which will be managed by their selves.
"This is a form of participation of village government and residents to help managing garbage," said the Regent of Tabalong Anang Syakhfiani.
He appreciated it and expected the independent waste site will benifit to general public and a model for others.

The integrated waste disposal was named TPST Semulung Permai and managed by the village's karang taruna (official youth organization at the community level).
Actually, said Chief of the Karang Taruna Amin Syafrullah, the TPST Semulung Permai which covers an area of 2,500 square meter, has been built since 2014, but only this year it began operating.
"It was because the entrance to disposal site can not be accessed, thus it has to be closed," Amin told.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Tabalong Environment Agency Rowi Rawatianice said the building of the integrated waste disposal in Wayau was with the assistance of the National Program for Urban Community Empowerment Program (PNPM Mandiri Perkotaan).
"This the first integrated waste disposal that is managed by village community," Rowi pointed out.
As for the final waste disposal (TPA) in Bongkang Village, Haruai Sub-district, Rowi revealed, in could only function from 2020.
