Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H A Chairansyah campaigned for "Save Meratus" on the national meeting and halal bi halal of Banjar people at the National Museum in Jakarta on Saturday (7/20).
The Regent, who was present with the Chairwoman of the PKK HST Hj Ernawati Chairansyah, felt proud as there were present the Banjar residents from various regions and abroad. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs AM Fachir, who is Banjar, also present at the event.
"We invite all the large families of Banjar people everywhere to support us and our community in an effort to save the Meratus Mountains from mining activities and oil palm plantations," he said.

Halal bi halal is also used as a place to promote superior regional tourism and arts, both for the Banjar people and the wider community.
The Deputy Governor of South Kalimantan H Rudy Resnawan, who also attended, said the event of the Banjar Culture Festival was made an annual event, including halal bi halal bubuhan (people of) Banjar.
He suggested the existence of Banjar culture as an ancestral heritage to be informed to the world community through a friend's ambassador, including the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
