The Agency of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (DPPPA) of North Hulu Sungai (HSU) is now wary on the issue of human trafficking that has occurred in the district.
Head of the agency Hj Gusti Iskandariah here on Wednesday said that the case of human trafficking in HSU was noisy when a young mother desperately left her family after she was tempted by someone's offer to work in another area.
"A young mother due to economic factors in midst of pandemic was tempted by someone's offer until she left her family," said Gusti in Amuntai recently.
The agency DPPPA, with the help of the police, was finally able to return the young mother back to her family.
With this background of the case, DPPPA carried out socialization of the prevention of Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) by inviting apparatus of villages, urban villages, Bhabinkamtibmas (public order police officer), Bhabinsa (a village supervisory non-commissioned officer), and related agencies to anticipate and for handling the case in their respective areas.
She hopes that this activity can strengthen the role of parents, community leaders, officials around the community in anticipating the crime of trafficking in person.
"Through this activity, we try to solve the problems that exist in our respective environment," she said.
She considered it is necessary to accelerate the handling and anticipation of the crime for all parties, especially parents, family, and village officials.
She also hopes that there will be a dialogue forum related to innovations in preventing human trafficking.
In addition, to form a TPPO prevention task force, the socialization aimed to socialize preventive measures, procedures and handling cases in human trafficking crime.
