Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Hundreds of residents together with kafilah or caravans from 21 villages and one urban village in Kusan Hilir Sub-district, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, enthusiastically welcomed the XXII National Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQN) or Quran Recitation Contest for the sub-district level.
Parade contest was held using cars decorated with local culture. People flocked along the road to watch enthusiastically.
Head of Kusan Hilir Sub-district Amirullah here on Monday said tens of villages participated in the parade toured rural ann urban areas to propagating Islam, and to love Al-Quran.
"The whole activities are centered at the Rindu Beach tourist attraction in Betung Village," he said.

Amirullah hopes the MTQN, which is held during April 27-30 to run well and participants follow the rules of the organizing committee.
Meanwhile, Head of Sei Lembu Village Rusniansyah said he was very enthusiastic taking part in the MTQN parade contest in Kusan Hilir.
"We are optimistic to win by displaying a car designed to resemble with Ziyadatul Abrar Floating Mosque and presenting participants wearing Bugis traditional cloth "Baco Bece," he said.
For reciting Quran competition, Rusniansya also prepared qori (male reciter) and qoriah (female reciter), who were ready to compete and optimistic about winning the competition.
"The participants in the competition are native sons and daughters of the Sei Lembu Village. They have been drilled since several months ago," he said.
Rusni acknowledged for the MTQN, he did not use or take qori or qoriah from outside the village, because he wanted to create a reliable Quran generation in his village.
