Kotabaru, S Kalimantan, (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Kotabaru district government, South Kalimantan Province, has built five retention basins for the local community as a precautionary measure against the clean water crisis.
Head of Kotabaru District H. Sayed Jafar remarked here on Saturday that five retention basins will solve the clean water problem in Kotabaru.
"In 2018, Kotabaru will build retention basins on Mount Perak," he stated.
The Kotabaru district government will prepare a program again for the development of retention basins on Mount Ulin II and Mandin next year.
Thus, Kotabaru will already have five retention basins -- Mount Ulin I and II, Mount Perak, Mount Tirawan, and Mount Mandin -- in 2019.
"Thus, in that year, we will be able to completely overcome the clean water crisis that we have experienced," he pointed out.
On the occasion, Director of the Drinking Water Regional Company (PDAM) of Kotabaru H. Nor Ipansyah pointed to a steady yearly growth in the number of customers of Kotabaru PDAM for which the requirement of raw water and retention basins holds significance.
