Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 13/11 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Traffic Unit of Banjarbaru Resort Police, South Kalimantan, imposed direct sanctions on 1,403 motorists during the "Zebra Intan 2017" operation.
Banjarbaru Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Kelana Jaya here on Monday said thousands of vehicle owners netted since the first day of raids until the 12th day on Sunday (12/11).
"1,403 riders, consist of 1,360 motorcyclists and 43 car drivers, were charged with ticket sanctions," said the police chief through Head of Traffic Unit AKP Gustaf AM.
According to him, violations of motorcyclists mostly of not having or not carrying documents, either the driver's license (SIM) or vehicle registration certificates (STNK).
He explained a two-wheeled rider who did not bring one of the two important documents that must be brought when driving was subject to online ticket sanctions.
"Drivers who do not have or do not carry their driver's license or vehicle registration get online tickets and they have to pay a fine in the bank or via ATM," he said.
Meanwhile, dozens of four-wheeled owners are charged a ticket for wearing a strobe or rotator light, while they do not have the authority to use such lights on the car.
"Car owners who wear strobe or rotator lights are one of the targets of operation in the raid and the driver is subject to violation of article 287 and is subject to fine sanctions," he said.
According to him, traffic violations, especially two-wheelers, are quite high. Evidently every time of raids in one location many who are netted and charged a ticket.
