Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Navy provides opportunities for young people from all walks of life, including those in Kotabaru district, to join as potential recruits in 2017.
"We invite young people to join the Navy which is open to all circles, either farmers' family, fishermen, and others," said Head of Naval Manpower Supply Agency Colonel Gatot Harianto in Kotabaru on Thursday.
He said the Navy requires 1,400 personnel Tamtama (enlisted), 100 personnel cadets (Taruna), consisting of 90 male and 10 female, and 800 troops level.
To attract the younger generation to join the Navy, socialization, and promotion of acceptance of prospective soldiers was intensified, especially to high school students.
"I am sure that many young Kotabaru have the potential to enter the Navy, but they are not too familiar with this institution," Gatot said.
Socialization and promotion of acceptance of candidate soldiers conducted by Kotabaru Naval Base in Mahligai Pemuda Building were greeted quite enthusiastically. The first activity was held not only followed by students in Kotabaru, from Tanah Bumbu were also excited to come.
"Socialization like this in the future will be done routinely, especially directly to schools," said the Commander of Kotabaru Naval Base Lieutenant Colonel Marine (E) Joko Adriyanto.
Some requirement to be a Navy soldier is good health, a minimum height for a male of 163 centimeters and female about 157 centimeters.
"The registrants are free of charge, all for free," said Joko.
