Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 6/11 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that South Kalimantan's economy during the third quarter of 2017 grew by 5.60 percent as measured by the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP).
Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Monday said the growth is better than the third quarter of 2016 at 4.08 percent.
"All categories, either mining, agriculture, manufacturing and trading industries contribute positively to South Kalimantan's economic growth," she said.
She said the structure of South Kalimantan's GRDP by business field is dominated by four main categories, namely mining and quarrying by 19.84 percent, agriculture and fisheries 16.73 percent.
Manufacturing industry 13.65 percent and trade 9.71 percent with the total role of the four categories reached 59.97 percent, while 13 other categories share the value of 40.07 percent.
"The highest growth category is information and communication of 9.45 percent, water supply 7.93 percent, education services 7.70 percent and trade 7.42 percent," she said.
Meanwhile, GDP growth by household expenditure was mostly contributed by 2.11 percent and government consumption expenditure 2.24 percent.
"The economic structure of South Kalimantan in the expenditure dominated by household component 45.45 percent and gross fixed capital formation of 23.51 percent," she said.
