Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Abidin Daeng Mappuji, a member of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Legislative Council (DPRD) has fulfilled his constituents' wishes in the neighborhood unit of RT 06, Baharu Utara Village, Pulau Laut Sigam Sub-district.
"I will donate (my own) private land for the construction of Darunnaim mushalla (small prayer place)," said Abidin Daeng Mappuji in Kotabaru, Friday.
In addition to donating land personally, he said he will make efforts to support the construction of the mushalla through the DPRD.
He underscored that development of place of worship needs the attention of all parties. Mushalla is not only a prayer place, but also a learning facility for children to learn Quran.

"The size (of land) we provide is based on the need of the community," he said.
He hopes tha the small contribution to the community will have a positive impact on residents of RT 06 especially, and residents of Baharu Utara in general.
Head of Village of Baharu utara, Zamzanie, welcomed the initiative of a DPRD member, who voluntarily donated land for the construction of a mushalla.
"Hopefully the construction will complete soon, so that residens can use it," said Zamzanie
He acknowledged that the phycical construction of musholla cannot use village fund due to the existing regulations.
"We express our gratitutde for the assistance provided to our residents. May it be a source of good deeds for all of us," he said.
