INKAI Kotabaru maintains quality through level exam

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Karate-Do Institute (INKAI) in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, held the Semester I 2026 Level Promotion Exam (UKT) which is considered as one way to maintain the quality of karate training.

Chairman of the Provincial Board of South Kalimantan INKAI H Pawahisa Mahabatan said that UKT or level promotion exam is an important instrument for maintaining the quality of karate development.

“INKAI does not target the number, we emphasize quality. Many athletes with low quality will not make achievement. Throgh UKT we measure the resut of six-month training and determine future development direction,” he pointed out in Kotabaru.

UKT is a routine INKAI agenda held every six months as part of the athlete development evaluation.

He emphasized that karate development must be carried out in stages and continuously so that athletes are able to compete not only at the district level, but also at the provincial and national levels.

"Achievement is born from a long process, disciplined training, supportive facilities, and collaborative work. It's not individual but collective effort," he added.

The karate training program received support from the 1004/Kotabaru Military District Command (Kodim), which expressed its readiness to support competitive sports activities, including providing training facilities for schools.

Meanwhile, the Kotabaru Police appreciated the UKT held by Kotabaru INKAI, which is believed effective in shaping the character of the younger generation through discipline, mental fortitude, and positive values that are valuable for individuals, their families, and the nation.

The chairman of Forki (Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation) Kotabaru, Asikin Ngile, hopes that INKAI as the school with the largest number of athletes in Kotabaru can be a driving force for regional karate achievements.

Through the UKT, INKAI Kotabaru is expected to improve the quality of athlete development and restore Kotabaru's glory as one of the regions with the potential for karate achievement in South Kalimantan.
